Elder runic Futhark 1

DIVINATION Runes by Shawn Welling

This book is about the interconnectedness of all things.   Our past is an

Amalgam of the experiences of our race, this planet, and the spiritual realms

Which we are a part.

Runes are a divinatory device used by the Celts and Druids for a way to communicate with each other and teach their people how to read and explore their higher self, their Spiritual knowledge.

As the story goes the Secrets of the Runes were passed down from the Celts to the Vikings by way of the poetic Edda, where Odin the Edda’s hero was given the secrets of the Runes over the Well of Eard. Odin hung himself by the leg to the tree of "Yydrasill" for 9 days and 9 nights, wounded by spear.  Meditating to find a key to help his people and gazing into the well of Eard, Odin was presented with the gift of Runes.  As the last of the Runes were given he died of his injuries.  He was then given the breath of eternal life, becoming the head of the Nordic Pantheon, and the Norwegian peoples All Father.

The 24 symbols which make up the Elder Futhark language are reminiscing of the

Ancient peoplswhich created them.    These people are unknown to us as of

There name but what they left behind is priceless.    The first recollections in

Books are from the Poetic Edde's which stated the secrets of the Language was

Taught to Odin by Freya, Freya the leader of the Vanier people a matriarchal

Tribal clan wandering the middle and Eastern parts of Europe From 800 b.c.e. to

As yet unknown past.   Freya taught Odin a small amount about the secrets.

Odin then went to the Tree of Yggdrasil hung himself by the right leg to one

Of the branches that stretched over the well of Eard.   The Tree of

Yggdrasil is in other forms and religions known as the world tree, the well

Is the well, which connects everything together?   Through Odin and the

Combining of the Aesir and the Vanier people there is a cultural record of the

Events, which followed the cultures combining.

So the origins of the symbols is a mystery, but there are clues to the mystery

Within the Edda's.   The matriarchal clan of the Vanier held the secrets

Before the Aesir.  Freya and her brother Frey where both friends with and

Within the feai community.   Which included Dwarves, elves, and Dark elves.

Through the druids a culture which came about after the split between the

Old Celts and the

In the beginning of the poetic "Edde's” Odin one of the Heroes to the Aesir

People when to the tree, after undergoing an arduous physical ordeal Odin was

Presented with the keys to the secret or hidden meaning to his and the Vainer

Language.  (The AEsier and the Vanier people joined together to create the

Nordic Germanic people).   This journey is outlined in the Tarot card "The

Hanged Man".

The Runes explanation

This guide is about the information the ancient Vikings carried across the vast distances of their travels.   The culture that spawned the Vikings being the Nordic culture is the people from the Northern part of Europe.   This culture had its own religion philosophy and understanding of the world.   We have little knowledge of this culture except from the mythology and the accepted version we have created out of the idea of the Vikings and the religion they followed.   Their religion is called today Ausatru.   Ausatru is the religion of Odin and the AEsier people.   The AEsier people are a subculture of the Nordic people.

What the entire hubbub is about is their language, which has long been feared by the Romans and all of the Patriarchal cultures, which encountered the Nordics.   The language is rumored to have strange mystical powers, to look into the very heart of the beast we know as Man.

Well the rumors and the mythology aside this is how the Language, that mythological and much feared item, in Latin is called Runes which meaning "Hidden or secret meaning".   In this guide you will read what the secrets are.   The language is called FUTHARK and is named for the first 6 characters in the language.

Enjoy

The mythology The Elder Futhark

Runes are a divinatory device used by the Celts and Druids for a way to communicate with each other and teach their people how to read and explore their higher self, their Spiritual knowledge.

As the story goes the Secrets of the Runes were passed down to the descendants of the Vikings by way of the poetic Edda, where Odin the All father to the Nordic people and one of the Edda’s heroes was given the secrets of the Runes during an extreme ordeal. This is portrayed in the Tarot as the Hanged Man. Odin is said to have hung himself over the Well of Eard by his left leg while tied to the tree of "Yggdrasil" which to the Nordic religion is the tree, which everything grows from.  Meditating to find a key to help his people and gazing into the well of Eard, Odin was presented with the gift of Runes.  As the last of the Runes were given he died of his injuries.  He was then given the breath of eternal life and became the head of the Nordic Pantheon.

The Futhark is a language, which brings the concepts of learning growing and evolving into a workable everyday concept.   Originally the Futhark was the language of the Vanier people.   The Vanier people where a matriarchal tribe wandering the lands of what is now called Eastern and Northern Europe.   This people worshiped a goddess called Freya, and a god called Frey.   These two there brothers and sister.   We today know very little about these people except that which was written in the poetic Edda’s.  But we do know that one of the major influences in the development of the Wicca religion came from the Vanier people.   The events are shaded in mystery but the AEsier a warlike lot that came down from the steps of Russia joined with and learned from the Vanier people.   In the poetic Edda’s it is said that Odin when to the well of Eard, the well which connect all life and which Yydrasill grows from, the tree of life in which all life grows.   Odin tied himself to the tree by his right leg.  Wounded himself by spear, and hung there for 9 days and 9 nights.   Eating no food a drinking no ail.   Peering into the well for something he could bring back to his people for assistance and guidance in bringing education and a sense of community to his people.   It is described the lessons of the first 8 Fehus 8 came up and presented Odin with there secrets.   The language he already know but the Deeper meanings where not present to anyone as yet.   Odin say the first symbols of his language, and not only saw the basic language part but also saw deeper, viewed the hidden meaning of the symbols.   The second set of 8 appeared and presented them to Odin.   Odin then died of his ordeal.   After a week on the other side of the Vail between this world and the next, Odin was then resurrected into his body, healed and alive Odin peered into the well again.   The final 8 symbols and there deeper meanings appeared.   At this time Odin took up the symbols in the form which they presented themselves, cut himself down, and returned to his people to teach them all about what he had learned.   The runes are a complex divinatory system encompassing Divination, A guidance tool.

The following definitions are a more modern and combining definitions of the runes bringing into account different cultures peoples and languages definitions of the Elder Futhark.
